The Oldest Bar
on the Narrows
The Arctic Bar has been pouring on Ketchikan's waterfront since 1937 — long enough to have a few stories. Back in the '40s a storm washed the original building clean out to sea, so they hauled it back up the hill and rebuilt. It's been the town's home base ever since.
We're a real Alaska bar: locals on every stool, deckhands and fishermen off the boats, and travelers who wandered up from the docks. No frills, no cover — just 17 cold ones on tap, burgers off the grill, a pool table, and the famous Happy Bears watching the door.
Stop in, grab a stool, and stay a while. First round's on you.
